About This Spot

Stepping into The Secret Garden Cafe is like finding a quiet nook away from the bustle of Faversham’s charming quay. Nestled in the Monks Granary at Standard Quay, this cozy tea house invites you to slow down and savor moments that feel both familiar and warmly unique. The soft hum of friendly chatter, the gentle clink of cups, and the rich aromas of freshly brewed coffee set a calm, unhurried tone—perfect for a thoughtful morning or a leisurely afternoon.

The pace here is easygoing, encouraging guests to linger over comforting plates and well-crafted drinks that feel made just for the occasion. Whether it’s a cappuccino that arrives with a generous slice of homemade cake or a simple scone accompanied by a smear of jam and cream, each bite and sip reflects a quiet care, an honest attention to detail. The menu quietly unfolds like a well-loved story: familiar favorites such as English breakfast treats, flaky pastries, and seasonally fresh sandwiches mingle alongside gluten-free indulgences and rich chocolate brownies, all inviting you to explore local flavors without rush.

In the background, the friendly staff weave seamlessly into the rhythm of the café, their warmth echoing the intimate setting. It’s easy to imagine conversations stretching on pleasantly here—shared over a cheese and onion toastie or a fragrant flat white—where visitors and locals alike find a gentle sense of community. The Secret Garden Cafe feels less like a stop on the map and more like a small discovered treasure, a pause where time softens and the simple pleasure of good food and company takes center stage.

Cozy, nice and well inserted in the town. If you go in Faversham, well you must stop there Capuccino is good and the generous slice of cake is freshly made

A wonderful little Cafe down by the Quay in Faversham! A beautiful spot in general to visit. The staff were very friendly and the food was great. My wife and I shared a cheese toasty and delicious bit of chocolate fudge cake!
